Om du inte betalar för produkten är du produkten. Precis som AI idag gick de här plattformarna i flera år på riskkapital. Nu måste de leverera siffror, och det är därför tjänsterna blir sämre och vi hela tiden hör om vad de gör med vår data.
De bygger också på dark patterns: gränssnitt gjorda för att manipulera snarare än tjäna. Det vägrar jag stödja.

Jag bor utomlands och vill fortfarande dela mitt liv med de jag känner, och de jag kanske kommer att lära känna online (jag älskar fortfarande att nätverka), utan att lämna över det till en miljardärs algoritm. Jag tror på det fria och öppna internet, så jag finns på Fediversen: tusentals oberoende servrar (Mastodon, Pleroma…) som pratar med varandra, som e-post. Ingen enskild ägare, ingen muromgärdad trädgård, inga annonser.

I've stopped using my accounts on the big social media platforms. Briefly, why:
If you're not paying for the product, you are the product. Like AI today, these platforms ran for years on VC money. Now they have to make their numbers, which is why they keep getting worse and why we keep hearing about what they do with our data.
They also rely on dark patterns: interfaces built to manipulate rather than serve. I won't support that.

I believe in the free and open internet, so I'm on the Fediverse: thousands of independent servers (Mastodon, Pleroma…) that all talk to each other, like email. No single owner, no walled garden, no ads.

Just got a quick visit from the in-laws which was cool. I'm fried though... barely eaten anything proper all day, just sandwiches... but we've got the slowcooker ready at any moment. Over and out!

I got #antihistamines IV which... is a first.
It sucked, but the people in the hospital were nice and now I feel very good and my symptoms aren't even 20% of what I experienced the day before. Got a five day prescription to run through here in the next coming days... What an adventure. Glad it's over

It caused what is likely accute allergic dermatitis. Something like Type IV Delayed Hypersensitivity reaction to something in that facemask.
In plain English:
I look like a dying elephant and will probably need to seek medical attention.
Flagged the image of my eyes in case there's a sensitive audience out there for these kinds of things.

My eyes are itchy from the face mask. We went for a short walk to buy some groceries. For dinner I made a Pumpkin Chowder Soup with cheddar cheese and we had queijo fresco as a starter.
Oh but we finished the first chapter of Diablo 3 and it was fun!
Apparently the G stands for Guac and the Q stands for Queso.
It was a hit! 🏳️🌈
It was nice to finally see them again. I think it's about time that I visit Sweden next. It's been over 2½ years!
