Om du inte betalar för produkten är du produkten. Precis som AI idag gick de här plattformarna i flera år på riskkapital. Nu måste de leverera siffror, och det är därför tjänsterna blir sämre och vi hela tiden hör om vad de gör med vår data.
De bygger också på dark patterns: gränssnitt gjorda för att manipulera snarare än tjäna. Det vägrar jag stödja.

Jag bor utomlands och vill fortfarande dela mitt liv med de jag känner, och de jag kanske kommer att lära känna online (jag älskar fortfarande att nätverka), utan att lämna över det till en miljardärs algoritm. Jag tror på det fria och öppna internet, så jag finns på Fediversen: tusentals oberoende servrar (Mastodon, Pleroma…) som pratar med varandra, som e-post. Ingen enskild ägare, ingen muromgärdad trädgård, inga annonser.

I've stopped using my accounts on the big social media platforms. Briefly, why:
If you're not paying for the product, you are the product. Like AI today, these platforms ran for years on VC money. Now they have to make their numbers, which is why they keep getting worse and why we keep hearing about what they do with our data.
They also rely on dark patterns: interfaces built to manipulate rather than serve. I won't support that.

I believe in the free and open internet, so I'm on the Fediverse: thousands of independent servers (Mastodon, Pleroma…) that all talk to each other, like email. No single owner, no walled garden, no ads.

Today was the first day I'm good enough to go outside so I bought some breakfast for me and my better half.
I'll try to study, cook and clean today
Such a fantastic experience. Would not recommend enduring it on the original Nintendo Switch however as it crashed frequently but oh well... nice to have it on the go!

• Called a general doctor, got a prescription
• Got a lucky booking with an immunologist(?) at the local private hospital (my insurance covered it, yay)
• Got prednisolon, more of it but in cream and a french OTC hyaluronic(?) aftercare cream
• I'm tired and sweating. Presumably from the medication... but I'm improving quite drastically. (Not as fast as when I got my IV dosage of antihistamines though😅)
• I made #Swedish taco mince for dinner. Comfort food galore. Couldn't bother with much else today
Not again!
Second time I'm getting this allergic dermatitis or whatever it is. Thankfully milder than the utter chaos I went to the emergency for after having tried a facemask some weeks back.
Had to postpone two interviews. No vision problems but can't look through my left eye without bothering the swelling.
I'll try to ice-pack it some, code a little, cook a little and play some slow cozy RPG until it's over.

Yesterday I went for a walk with @dotmargui to Maravilhas Nordicas here in Parede.. and we bought a cold pear cider and some sour candy that we enjoyed in the nearby dog park.. oh and we got the cheese in the second picture for free!
Today had a pleasant surprise as the morning shopping ended up with a discovery of some pastrami.

Toothpaste is mint flavored because we associate it with "cleanliness" and "freshness"... but what if you made like pistachio tasting toothpaste and instead of dessert you just brush with that? 🤔
Decidedly minimalist when compared to a modern "DB-free" CMS such as GravCMS, arguably the market leader. More opinionated than Mozilo and #PHP based unlike for example TinaCMS. I hope that there's a bright future ahead for Quanta, for sure. #Programming
Then today, after a weekend of too much partying, I ended up glued to the TV at home watching The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. At first I just wanted to see discount Star Wars bad guy act a little... I had my script flipped completely. Turns out it's directed by the genius Terry Gilliam. I'll summarize it as "this movie felt like how a memorable 7/10 movie made in the early 2000s used to feel". 7/10 🎥

Got a phone call yesterday from my friend Bruno at 22:30 that he was going for an #icecream with his parents so we said yes and took the car to the nearest Santini but it was closed so we went to a second that was too crowded and then a third before settling on Fabio Lupi. I had Mascarpone as well as a Basil one, both delicious. Then 4½ hours of sleep and a trip with my partner and her mother to #IKEA in Alfragide.
